The first Harrison that I am going to be featuring was my grandfather Victor Ephraim Harrison.
I did not have a chance to know him as he passed away a few years before I was born. I am told that he was an extremely intelligent man, who had a few struggles in his life.
- He was born on January 9, 1922 in Sault Ste. Marie, Chippewa, Michigan
- He lived for a portion of his youth with his "Aunt Idena" McLean
- He married Julia Carolina Allen at a very young age
- He moved his family from Upper Michigan to Flint, Genesee, Michigan where he resided for the remainder of his life
- He died July 8, 1971 in Flint, Genesee, Michigan
- He is buried in West Vienna Cemetery, Genesee, Michigan
There is very little that I know about Victor and I would love some stories, memories, comments, etc. to add to his legacy.

My
ReplyDeletefirst tidbit of info might be that he was the editor of his school
newspaper in high school-I can't clarify this maybe aunt Idena or
Uncle Ivan could-or Leroy or uncle Clayton. I know that he was said to
be sickly as a child so went to live with Aunt Idena in the city...But
I also know most of the boys helped out working for other farmers--to
help with income for the family in hard times as the 30's????
Shirley
Vic... The man could fix anything. High IQ, with talents on the "man" side. Very mechanical. Could repair, build design anything mechanical. His employment included working for Michigan Bell Telephone on fleet trucks, and a long career as a machine repair/operator in Buick City. When I met him in 1967 he still worked with GM/Buick and was making crankshafts for Buick V8 engines. Soon in 1968 Vic became ill with bone-cancer and went on disability. Vic also love hunting, to travel and all outdoor things.
