  1. Emily was my Grand Mother. She raised me from the time I was 7yrs old until I married. I remember the weekly bus trips to JL Hudsons. The best part of those trips was stopping at Greenfields for lunch, which usually consisted of hot fudge cream puff.
Grandma was strict in raising me. All my reading material was given the once over. All movies had to be checked for rating in the Michigan Catholic. There was no arguing with her because she would just shut her hearing aid off & continue reading. huhhh!!!!!!!!!!
She had a chair in the front window where she read her many books, prayed & said her rosary. We went to the block rosary every week. What happened to that?
When it became difficult for her to get around, she chose too go to Lourds nursing home. She loved all the activities & was able to attend dailey Mass. Who would know, with all that incessant reading that she had not graduated from high school? Whan she was 90 yrs old, she made us all sooooooo proud. Grandma walked up the eisle of Lourds Chapel with her walker & in her cap & gown, & recieved her high school diploma from Waterford School district. I don't think there was a dry eye there.
May her soul & all the souls of the faithfully departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
    Nancy
